Do you have green fingers, a kind heart and some time to spare in the week? 

Then the primary students at Jewell Academy in Bournemouth need you!

A small area of garden at the back of the school is in need of some nurture to bring it back to life. Overgrown grass, weeds and some neglected polytunnels all currently occupy the space in need of help.  

It’s hoped the work undertaken to turn the land into a green oasis will encourage the young pupils at the school, located in the Townsend area, to take an active interest in growing plants, flowers, and to think about biodiversity.

Ali Sinclair, Vice-Principal of Jewell, said: ‘’We would love to hear from someone who has an hour or two to spare per week, is passionate about gardening and enthusiastic about transforming the garden patch we have. They would be helping our children engage with nature and complement the Forest School sessions the children enjoy taking part in. We would be very grateful for any help.’’
