Initial Teacher Education courses
We offer two courses:
PGCE trainee – one year leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in primary or secondary phase. This course is funded through a student loan. This is the most suitable option for candidates who have a small amount of school experience. Apply at Gov.uk Apply for Teacher Training and choose Aspirations.
Teacher apprenticeship – A one-year full-time programme leading to QTS in primary or secondary education. This course requires you to be employed as an unqualified teacher in an educational setting and is designed for those with more experience. You will be in the classroom from day one and earning while you learn. Contact us for details. You will pay no fee for this course.
About you
To apply for these courses you need to have a relevant degree 2.2 or above, GCSE passes at grade 4/C in English, Mathematics and (primary only) a science subject.
